Minimum Amount of Use For a Bank Account

Do banks expect a minimum amount of use for an account? I want to be able to monitor my credit card usage on line with LLoyds TSB but I can only do this if I have a personal account. I have a business account so if I open a personal account I can register for internet banking, monitor my credit card but just not use the account or not very much.

If you just stuck 10 in and left it you would be okay.

I have two bank accounts that have had no money in or out for over 2 years and they are both still fully functioning - but not tried Lloyds.

Suspect that just looking at the account using the Internet will help keep it alive.

Take your point, but they still show up on the Internet and show the correct balance of 1 and 10 respectively.

I have about three transactions per year on my Lloyds account, an insurance direct debit with Lloyds insurance, the money I pay in to cover that, and a small amount of bank interest. I haven't had any problems with that level of activity.

HSBC certainly work that way. I only had to browse their section for Personal Loans and I got a phone call the next day asking if I was still interested - they definitely monitor access to their systems!
