Pensioners not getting their pensions this Xmas

Dec 17, 2004 1 Replies

My FIL is pretty compos mentis and has had the help of an incandescent bank manager but even then it has taken him 3 weeks to get his pension restored after being inexplicably "cancelled" by the computer when his post office closed.

There must be others in the same boat whose money has not turned up and who if they have the temerity to complain are treated as fraudsters. Can I ask all of you, if you know a pensioner to drop this into the conversation and see if *their* income has dried up all of a sudden?

Hopefully we can get it restored before Xmas.

Ummm....the post office closing wouldn't make any difference. The post office has nothing to do with whether a pension is cancelled. And the post office accounts aren't affected either.

It may be just a computer error - which do happen without outside circumstances changing.
