portfolio tracking software

Hello all,

Can anyone point me in the right direction for some software that I can input my portfolio into and it will help me chart its ups and downs. . I've been playing with Personal Stock Monitor Gold but its american and it can't find the values of a couple of common UK funds I've invested in.

Failing that I'll probably use one of the online systems like on the Hargreaves Lansdown website but they're not very sophisticated (can't do histories etc).

Many thanks, Crom

You could try a demo version of 'Fairshares' from:

It's a UK program and will probably do all you want it to. My DOS-based version is a getting on a bit, but that does all manner of tricks including logging facilities on for updates, so the latest Windows/Linux versions ought to fly.

Thanks very much for the pointer. The software looks amazing but at £500 for the version that would do what I want (and make the tea!!) it's a little out of my league.

I have to say (and I'm not connected to them etc etc) if anyone is in the market for something to hold all their investments together then they could do worse than look at PSM at

Very good support and the community of users is very helpful. It looks like me not being able to import a UK stock is a bug and it's being corrected at the moment!

Cheers, Crom

Oh dear, in that case I'll carry on using my two-floppy diskette version of 'Fairshares' that cost around GBP20. Software doesn't wear out. I use it just for tracking and movements, not for complex tax analysis. Jf

Have a look at the Stockmarket programs from Meridian. The software is reasonable but they are not very helpful people.
