sainsburysbank.co.uk just says 'Sorry...'

Nov 29, 2005 3 Replies

Just tried four times, at 15 minute intervals, to get a home insurance quote from sainsburysbank.co.uk

I fill in my details, it says Quote in progress, please wait...

And then after a minute or so, I get

Sorry but we are unable to process your application at this time.

Is this just a tempter to get me to ring their call centre anyway, and be 'persuaded' to buy their insurance?

MM (fed up with crap service as a general rule)

I will, but it pisses me off the way some of these web sites suck you into wasting so much time. Last week I tried DirectLine and Esure, neither of whose web sites worked properly. The web sites at the AA, RAC and Churchill did work, however, so I chose Churchill for my car insurance. And now we have Sainsbury's. Not a clue as to why their site wouldn't give me a quote. A couple of hundred grand developing the web site and... zilch! Next they'll be whingeing yet again to all the financial pages about profit warnings.

Its not worth dealing with third party supplliers. Sainaburys are just an insurance shop front for the real insurance co. For eg,we used to have outr house ins with nationwide. They just acted as agent for Churchill BUT Churchill wouldnt speak to us direct even though we were insured with them becuase we had purchased via nationwide!!. Whos money is it?,anyway nationwide werent all that good at dealing with queries and why should they be as all they did was take our money and pass it on. On renewal we binned nationwide and insured direct with churchill for less. Now we CAN talk to the organ grinder..
