Sending money abroad

Sep 20, 2004 1 Replies

I wonder what is the cheapest way to send various amounts of money to a foreign bank account (Czech republic), say 500, 1000,5000 and 10 000. My bank, A&L would do a banker's draft for 15 for any amount. Can I get a better deal?

Thanks Roman

Probably not. Lloyds TSB do an "economy rate" transfer for 5.50. However, this is only to certain countries on their list, and I doubt CR will be one of them, as all the countries on their list seemed to be Euro zone. Poland wasnt. It cost me 13 this side and the other side charged me 5 as well, as an extra nice surprise, especially as I was told the foreign bank wouldn't charge. Oh yeah, and I think you have to be an account holder too.
