About 10 years ago somebody managed to convince two large stores in Manchester that they were me. I did remember receiving a household bill some time before this which was badly sealed, but neither the under-writing bank nor the stores would tell me what I/D evidence had been provided by the fraudster.

An elementary check would have shown that he used the wrong initial for my first name.
