Submitting tax return electronically.

Anyone else having problems submitting their tax return automatically.

I am using the Inland Revenue software, and it just gets to 95% and says to try again later - It has been doing this since yesterday lunch time. :(

Yes, I left it at 1.15 this morning after a quarter of an hour of the

"Please wait while Online Tax Return - Self Assessment securely submits your Tax Return. Online Tax Return - Self Assessment is waiting for notification that your Tax Return has been received by the Inland Revenue.

"This process may take a while. If you are not able to wait for a response, you can log out and return to Online Tax Return - Self Assessment later in order to confirm that the Inland Revenue has received your Tax Return."

pages with the Check Status button or eggtimer cycling continually.

On logging out, I did get a screen saying "Your Tax Return has been submitted but we are not yet able to confirm receipt. Please come back and check the progress of your Tax Return.", and captured a screenshot of it.

I've not received any confirmatory e-mail, and on logging back in this morning, no evidence on my Check Tax Return Status page of any return having been submitted, and when I got down to the Self Assessment IR Own Software page, there were the Check Status and eggtimer pages happily cycling away, even after I cleared Opera's cache. On logging out, I got the same message as in the previous paragraph.

So I'll check again tonight or tomorrow, and would hope for some announcement from IR to clear matters. But my default assumption is that I've done all I can, and that any feedback problems are IR's.

Probably not relevant, but FWIW, mine this year was an unrequested return.

IR says yes - you shouldn't have left it to the last minute.
