Freelance Accounting Website Question

Oct 30, 2005 3 Replies

On the web, there are several websites like elance.com, rentacoder.com, getafreelancer.com, etc. Most of these are geared around software development and web development. None that I found seem to hit the accounting/bookeeping area. Elance touches it a little but there isn't much work there.

I am willing develope such a site and charge just a minimal amount for opperation.

Question: Do you think there is a market for such a site for the accounting profession? What of clients? Will clients be willing to use such a service?

What a good name be? alance.com? Kidding, that's horrible.

"Dean"

I think most businesses that outsource accounting projects or functions use an accounting firm they have worked with before or something like "accountemps", accountingprincipals, etc.

Good Point, even if they one of the big 5, they would just turn to them for additional assistance.

How would this effect bookkeeping services such as payroll?
