40 Column Receipt WITOUT item comments

OK - I admit I am totally confused.

I was thinking that item comments (CTRL F10 at POS) were not printing out on the 40 col OPOS receipt register.

However, they are printing and the ~ is in the alignment. ???? The customer does NOT want them to print. I was thinking that without the ~ (on a windows printer only) the description would the line wrap and show the comments.

Again, they want the description to print and not wrap to show the comments.

Try reselecting the XML Template in the Receipt Properties - it may not have been applied... You would then have to restart POS for the change to take effect...

I wish that were it. I know it is picking up this receipt format because I changed the wording slightly just to make sure it was picking up the right one.

Try doing a test with the Default Receipt from the RMS CD.

Rob,

I just reloaded the BASIC RECEIPT 40 column from the original installation CD. I went in and changed the wording on the footer slightly just to make sure it is picking up the one I reloaded.

It still prints the comment line if it is entered via CNTRL F10

What's so confusing is that there are receipts on the partner source download to specifically print the comment line. The only difference I can see in the XML code is that the ~ is removed to allow the line to wrap. However, the instructions says the the line will only wrap on Windows printers and not on OPOS devices.

This is an OPOS printer and the ~ is in the alignment statement. Yet it still seems to wrap and print the comments.

I sucessfully stopped the comment from printing on the full size receipt which prints on Receipt Printer 2 defined at the register by simply putting in the ~ so the line would not wrap.

I just can't figure out why it is wrapping and printing here.

D,

Uhh, maybe change to the Windows driver for the receipt printer too? ;-)

I don't do OPOS, but with a Windows driver, when I select the default receipt and enter a Comment, it doesn't print the comment. When I ~ away, it does. ;-(
