We are encountering duplicate customer entry by our cashiers. This is happening because I imported the customers from QBPOS, and the account numbers did not have zeroes in front. The new accounts created by RMS have them. However, when you sort by last name in the lookup screen, it actually sorts by last name, then by first name, but breaks them into two groups (the RMS numbers, then our non-zero preceding numbers). So, our cashiers do not always find the customer because they don't scroll all the way down. Is there any way to remedy the sort so it sorts by last name, then by first name, regardless of account number? If not, would I be breaking things if I just assigned "new" account numbers in the database? (I'm assuming that the transaction data is keyed to the customerID field, not the value in the account number?)
Unrelated issue: Is it possible to display the email field on the POS display? I would like to display that on the screen once the customer is selected, so that the cashiers know if we need to get their email address for our mailing list. Currently, the only way to do that is to look up under properties, which is too time consuming.
