Coupon

Is there a way to ring up a coupon in RMS? Say $5.00 off if you spend $50 or more? I don't to issue gift cards and I'm not to thrilled with the idea of setting up an item with a negative retail.

Set up another tender type of "Discount Coupon" or whatever you want to call it. Now when you tender the cell, you would put in say "$45 for cash" and then "$5 for Discount Coupon". This will make another tender you need to settle at the end of the day.

Then for accounting when you enter in your financial software, you would make that as a charge to some category of advertising. That way, it shows up right in any P&L statements/reports and can be picked up for tax reporting.

This is exactly what we do.

So in the tender field for Discount Coupon, you're entering a positive value, not a negative, correct?

That is correct - because you "took in something" for that tender type.
