If you don't sell the case of oil, it seems a parent/child relationship might work better.

- Set up the individual bottle of oil as well, as a standard item.

- In the SPECIAL tab of the individual bottle's properties, assign the case of oil as the parent item - the child qty is 12.

- In the OPTIONStab of the individual bottle, check mark "may not be placed on purchase order" if you cannot buy the individual bottle from your supplier.
