do i really need a server?

i want to do all the data entry in the back office and not at the front pos lane.



i have 1 lane with a computer, and another computer in the back office i want to load with rms, quickbooks, and office.



the back office computer will have 2 hard drives with raid, and an additional outboard hard drive for daily backups



can i network the back office with the front pos without a costly server, and not be forced to do all data entry at the front pos when the store is closed?

You can have as many computers in SO Manager that you wish, but only one computer running POS at a time if you bought the single lane version of RMS.

Your backoffice computer will work just fine. Have your database on that computer, share the RMS folder and have the POS computer read from it.
