Being we all must see this taskpad when we start the Manager application, It would be nice if is was actually a useful task pad rather than a page with short-cuts on it. A very easy enhancement. Or customization for that matter.
For example it could be more like a to do list containing PO's that are in progress (created, but not placed yet). It could also contain a list of reminders with deadline dates and a check box. The datagrid could sortable by date, supplier, or description and have it refresh based on either time intervals or firing of internal events:
[ ] Order Spring shoes from supplier X - deadline: 10/1/05 [ ] Limited Edition Bike order from supplier Y- deadline: 10/15/05 [ ] Holiday promo order from supplier Z - deadline: 10/20/05
PO#11111 from supplier X has not been placed PO#22222 fomr supplier Z has not been placed
