A nice feature in Store Ops Manager would be Graphs. I know you can do this at the pos; however, most of our analysis is performed at our workstations in the back where we only run manager. Graphs make it much easier to see how sales are progressing. It would also be a much quicker way to look at this data as opposed to generating several reports and exporting & consolidating the data.
Furthermore the graphing features should be more robust than at the POS. For example, we are a seasonal shop and like to compare current data (daily sales, week, month & year to date) to last years data so we can see our relative position to last season and make departmental and store wide adjustments.
My initial thought would be to have the X axis as time with the following options: day, week, month, year, week to date, month to date, or year to date. The Y axis would be sales in dollars or quantity. The data could then be added by item, category, department, supplier, etc. You would also have the option of overlaying data from differnet years (ie Dec 2004 & Dec 2005). Having the option of different graphs such as line, area, etc would also be helpful.
