Exporting Purchase Orders (Store Ops Manager)

I had a similar issue with a customer exporting to MS Word. If you bring your version up to 2.0.0112 it should resolve it.

Your answer is simple, Get PDF995 its $10 pwr license you install the program and it will print the PO into a PDF file, This way you can send it as an attachment and when printed by the supplier it looks just like it would if you print it from your desktop.

Use export to file and then attach it to the email. Exporting to email doesn't work. I gave up on it a long time ago, but exporting to file and then attaching it to the email works like a charm. No need to buy anything. Craig

Exporting to file loses the way it looks and its some of the formatting.

I export Html to file all the time and post the files on my website as inventory lists, and have no issues with 'losing the way it looks' or with losing any formatting. It works fine, just make sure to uncheck 'export hidden rows'. If you want to see what the files look like visit

What are you using for email, I eremebr having a problem similiar to this and I think it was because of using lookout express and not a full version of lookout.

Craig, FYI your exporting reports not PO's. but like your site, who does your order transfers from site to RMS?

I do use Outlook Express, so maybe that is the issue with exporting to email, not sure. The examples I gave were of reports because I don't like sensitive information whirling around cyber space, but exporting to file works for PO also, I do it every week. There is a little bit of a problem at the very top of the exported html file, but the PO itself is completely intact, so it shouldn't cause his supplier any problems. Also, if you export the PO to file in XML format, it is perfect. Thanks for the kudos on the site. I currently don't offer a shopping cart on my website, only phone orders, because I haven't found any carts that would work with my site without a major overhaul or moving to nitrosell or something like that. As noted, Outlook Express is problematic with RMS export to HTML, since it adds the weird extension to the filename that OE does not like. I like to use OE but was forced to use MS Outlook to email PO's to my vendors. I have been using it for years now and it works fine in all formats. You do not have to export the file, then attach it. If you set Outlook as the default mail handler, RMS 'export to email' should work perfectly.

Does the export to email function send as an attachment or in the body of the message? My suppliers need it as an attachment. Craig

I know that XML is sent as an attachment (if you are sending PO's to one of the Central Pet & Garden distributors), but I will have to check on HTML when I get back to the store. I know the HTML displays in the email properly, but do not remember if it is also attached. I'll get back to you on that.

Sorry, HTML is not sent as an attachment with Outlook, it is embedded on the email page.

In certain circumstances, we "print" the report using Microsoft Office Document Image Writer... this provides a file (.tif) that can be attached to an e-mail, and the tif preserves the original formatting that RMS provides. Note: the person who receives the attachment, and attempts to open, may experience problems opening it, but they just have to associate their picture viewer to open the tif.
