Permission denied on hq client log

After an upgrade of a store database from MSDE to SQL 2005 Express there is a problem connecting the store to HQ. Whenever the we try to start the HQ Client program on the store server we get an error "permission denied on headquarters client log", and then the application closes again. De service seems to have started, but there is no data upload. What can I do?
