I'm sincerely hoping that there is someone out there able to help me with my RMS problem. Let me take a moment to drag you into the depths of my hell.....
Frist, let me start by saying that we're using an isv that refuses to take responsibility or even admit that this might be an issue with the way RMS is set up.
The Scenario: Merchant accounts have been set up for visa/mastercard, american express, jcb, and diners club. Someone uses a discover card and the transaction finalizes, but is never sent to Vital (our processor). Since we don't have a discover account, we set one up, the bank links it and our isv says everything will work (hmmm ... where did that first transaction go?). Subsequent Diners cards are accepted and the individual sale(s) finalize - again, Vital gets neither approval requests nor do they get the submission. Printing the tender report shows the diners transaction. Printing the EDC report does not show the transaction. Our isv blames our bank. How this could be an issue with our bank when the transactions aren't even being submitted for payment (or for approval) is beyond me.
Now the cashiers have taken a debit card - and I've been assured (by our isv) that the system won't allow debit transactions. Of course, the transaction doesn't seek an approval nor is it submitted in the credit card batch for payment.
The total neglect from our isv is driving me to madness. He is actually the isv of one of our partners - and they seem to have some strange relationship with him that doesn't require him to respond to problems.
If anyone can give me a little guidance I would appreciate it. I am totally unfamiliar with the RMS software, other than what I've gleaned from this newsgroup, so I'll need a little hand-holding ... or some good step-by-step instructions. We need discover cards to act like the other credit card types (get approval/decline, submit for payment), and we need to block debit cards. We also need to recover the prior transactions and re-submit (which I can do from a stand alone credit card terminal if necessary).
Thanks in advance!!!
Brett
