The need of a signature depends of course on local laws/rules and also Processor requirements. I would contact your processor and ask them. There is also the fact of many places dont even give you a receipt to sign for any dollar amount under $25 but some do. RMS stores the signature in the DB and you can pull up the journal and reprint the signature by itself from there by hitting the tender button in that screen and you can see the signature and are able to print on a full page printer.

Many places that were using the signature capture to print on the receipt have also quit doing it becuase of waste.

Best bet contact your processor and get the final word on what THEY require.

Another thing to look at is the Ingenicco 6550 is not PCI certified and after 2010 will no longer be accepted I would go with the Hypercom 4150 or

4250. If you need any info let me know snipped-for-privacy@americanretailsupply.com .
