Ingenico i6550 stand by screen

Nov 03, 2009 3 Replies

I managed to install the Ingenico 6550 pin pad on RMS v 2.0.126 (SP 3), the PINPAD is working, the MSR is working, the Signature capture form is working. My problem is while the PINPAD is on standby mode the screen is blank, i mean when the POS is executed the screen on the i6550 is blank, actually the screen only shows something when the customer is required to either enter the Signature or enter the PIN code, all the other moments the screen is blank. I would like to have something different while the PINPAD is on standby mode. Also I would like to show on the i6550 screen the total amount to be tendered, and also have the customer to choose the payment type (debit or credit).

I tried to contact Ingenico technical support, but no help from them.

Checking some forums I got the i6550 to work as a Pole Display, but it just displays two lines.

Any help would be very appreciated.

The pinpad itself has programming inside it that you whould be able to disable(turn off) the screen saver mode. as far as being a line display without some sort of custom programming 2 lines is it.

There is an add on for this. It doesn't work perfect like you are used to seeing at supermarkets but it does the functionality you want. Syssolutions is the name of the company.

: Hello Alejandro, I currently have the new pos 2009 version. I don?t suspect that there are much of difference when it comes to which hardware would work. I?m having a hard time configuring any of which you have already successfully configured. Such as pinpad, msr, signature capture form and the display. I want to know if you could direct me with some of the instruction on how to configure the i6650. Thank you so much in advance.
