SigCap PIN Credit Solution

We have been using Ingenico eN-Touch1000 devices for almost two years now. Other Ingenico devices will work with RMS as well. Payment processing has been through Cynergy (formerly Abanco). The devices are great but I am not as happy with Cynergy. As far as I know, they are the only payment processor that supports it. Mercury payment systems claim to be developing support for this but as of yet nothing. I hope this helps.

I need a solution that will do SigCap, PINPad, and Credit (with, of course, the MSR) all on one device. This has to work with Vital/TSYS.

I have to admit that I don't understand the specifics of how the entire process works. What is the sequence for specifying this type of device? I can't find anything that's on both the RMS HCL and the Vital HCL.

Is there anyone out there who is doing Vital with RMS and has an all in one device that they're happy with?

I think the Ingenico 6550 will do signature capture, debit and credit and will work with the built in RMS interface. It will need to be injected with an encryption key corresponding to the merchant service provider you are using but there should not be a problem with that. Of course I would recommend Mercury Payment Systems as the acquirer but you can use anyone who can process using the standard RMS credit/debit interface. Thanks all, So if I'm hearing correctly, the Ingenico 6550 can do the SigCap, Debit, Credit AND MSR? Everything that I have read tells me that the i6550 will do all of the above but you still have to swipe on a separate MSR... this is not the case?

Brandon, I have confirmed that the 6550 will do all the transaction types and provide the card swipe as well.

Matt - there is a customer desperate for the driver and assistance with the Ingenico. I think his name is TWD - he has posted his pleas for help today if you read the top threads. He is not using 2.0 - instead on 1.3 - but maybe something for you to check out.

I think I now realize that I have been asking the wrong question of Vital (they are telling me they don't support the i6550). I have been asking whether they support the i6550, but (and correct me if I'm wrong) RMS is what connects to Vital, which we know is supported, and the i6550 plugs directly into RMS but does not really "talk" to Vital.

So now I'm just down to arranging to have Vital release their keys to whoever I pick to do the injection...

Am I on target here?

The only supported device by RMS 2.0 out of the box is the Ingenico i6550.

You can use other devices with an add-on from HyperCom's (formally TPI Software) SmartPayments RMS add-in software (

I am using the same I6550 pin pads with RMS 2.0 ..having issues where the Pin Pad will go into a power save mode, and when it does it frezzes up. I have done a lot of trouble shooting and have a farily high level of technical knowledge. I was wondering if you are having the same problems, and if not what version of the OPOS driver are you using(i have tried 2.30 and 2.40) and are you using USB or serial. if you could also give me the Firmware version to that would be great.
