MPOS - credit card tender screen

on the tender screen, I select VISA for example. It prompts for the credit card number, experation date, and approval code. I swipe the VISA card... it is putting all credit card info into the Credit Card text box. It is not utilizing the symbols and putting the credit card number into the credit card feild and the experation date into the experation date field. MPOS is putting all credit card information into the credit card number field as if you were swiping the card in Notepad. What could be causing this?



the credit card swipe is using the correct format that is posted in the Microsoft Knowledge Base. And I use this identical credit card swipe for many many RMS installs, it works flawlessly. Why is MPOS not putting the correct information into the fields?

It is a problem with the way it is set up in the enabled device area of MSPOS. Is the MSR USB or keyboard wedge? If you have checked the KB on proper output format in notepad just try changing the MSR type in the enabled device list or change the interface type (different msr). Just because it works in RMS doesn't mean it will be a snap in MSPOS. Is the scanner set up properly? Does the touchless tendering work? Can you scan the barcode on a receipt and bring up the choices for that transaction?

I'm having a similar problem. I've tried both MSR devices listed as available for my register and no matter which one I pick I have the same results.

When my register was running RMS, the IDTECH swipe I have (model #IDT3331-33UB) was properly parsing the CC information into the RMS system's credit card input screen. Now however since upgrading to MS POS 2009, all of the CC info is going into the first field on the credit card data input screen in MS POS 2009 when I do a swipe.

I believe the MSR parsing is working correctly as I have reviewed the IDTECH documentation and I'm getting two lines of output in notepad when I do a swipe. The first line starting with '%' and ending with '?'. The second line starting with ';' and ending with '?'.

It would appear that the problem is with the MS POS 2009 software not having the correct driver for the device. For the register properties, I have two different MSRs listed as 'Available Devices'. One is USB Keyboard MSR and the other is Wedge Keyboard MSR. Both of them have the same problem. I looked at the IDTECH website and could not find anything driver-related that I need to install so I'm back to thinking the the issue is with the MS POS 2009 software.

Do I need an updated OPOS driver or is there some other level of configuration in the MS Dynamics POS software that I need to modify?

If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it!
