Credit Card Processors

I would like to know if anyone has experience with Credit and Debit (interac) processing in Canada. We would like to have it fully integrated with RMS (does ICVerify or PC-Charge work in Canada?). We would also prefer an ingenico pinpad, but this is not a huge issue.

These are your options that I am aware of: Moneris - Integrated solution provided by Moneris and TPI Soft Cost Covered by Moneris (Fairly decent, some of our clients seem to have problems with pinpads) TD Canada Trust - Inegrated solution using Tender Retail. Cost = Covered by TD (Have a few clients using the integration and I hardly ever hear from them) Chase Paymentech - Integrated solution using Tender Retail. Cost = $499 (No clients using but it is the same interface as TD) Global Payments - Integrated solution using Tender Retail. Cost = $499 (No clients using but it is the same interface as TD)

I only have 1 piece of advice. Stay away from Chase Paymentech at all costs. They will screw you over the first chance they get. Craig

No they use third party software. (TPI Soft and Tender Retail) Check my original post next to each solution I added the software used and the cost.

This is great, thanks for your expertise Robert, it is greatly appreciated. Are these custom solutions, or do they somehow use IC Verify or PC Charge. I'm looking to use one of these because I have access to both of these quite cheap.

Thanks, Nate

STAY AWAY!!! from PCCHARGE and ICTERRIFY. The debit portion of PcCharge does not work as you would expect with RMS, To be able to do debit with pccharge and RMS you will need an additional piece of software called the RMS debit module from pccharge. it doesnt always work. Also the newer version of pccharge is not supported with RMS. Keep in mind that both PCcharge and ICVerify that work with RMS use what is called the file drop method. If there is communication lost for some reason a customer can be double charged or not charged at all and your left holding the bag. I have seen many many many problems with both of these and if you talk to the tech support of a processor company(not the sales guy) they dont care for either as well.

Also something to know about ICVerify it was recently purchased by a processing company(I belive FDS(First Data)) and has been engineered more for them.

Remeber the cheapest solution isnt always the best solution. I have used TPI many many times and would go that way. TPI connect directly to RMS and you can use a broader array of pinpads and signature pads then just RMS supported. Also TPI does NOT use the file drop method.

The file drop method is a very easy way to open yourself up to fraud!!

Moneris will provide you with the neccessary hardware and software to do integrated credit card processing. You will need to talk with Moneris on the availability of Chip and Pin processing.

Thanks for you help everyone. Looks like I'll be going with Moneris, which is TPI so it sounds like there shouldn't be too many issues. We are looking to use the Ingenico i3070. My two questions are:

1) Has anyone had any issues with these pinpads and the TPI software? 2) Does the TPI software support the new "Chip Cards"? We are part of a test area for these cards so it is required that we support them by the middle of 2010.

Rob,

How does Tender Retail integrate with RMS 1.3R?

Thanks,

Dan

The minimum requirements would be: Version 1.2 or greater for MS RMS Available COM Port Printer AntiVirus and Firewall

Besides that it should work seamlessly with your RMS 1.3R and it is EVM Chip and Pin ready.
