Managing Quantity Discounts

Jan 16, 2006 2 Replies

I am running a retail chain and currently use the Quantity Discount tables to provide quantity discounts (big surprise). To date, I have not found a simple way to manage this discount table without entering each SKU's properties and manually making changes. I haven't seen a way to do this in RMS and haven't found a tool to help.

My quantity discounts are all based on percentage, so determining the price is easy, it's the update process that is time consuming.

Anyone out there know of a trick or a tool?

Thanks.

I am not sure how to do it, but I am sure it's possible to do with SQL commands. Maybe more of a pragmatic answer would be to use an Excel spreadsheet. Export a report to a CSV and open it in Excel, where you can quickly compute the figures... I did this when modeling inventory levels.

The big issue with this is that if you are using HQ to set your Discounts there are a few issues.

If you keep all your stores working together on the same pricing schema then you will find this at least a little easier to manage. But....

Still there is not date control on the discounts and more over the reports wont show to much either.

Speak to Retail Realm they have a promotional program that may suite your needs that can be attached to RMS.
