Installing RMS on a network?

After installing RMS on a workstation which is the server; (and installing RMS on two clients) - Once I set up, configure, customize buttons etc. can I at that point copy all of those customizations to my other two workstations? and if so, how?

Once you setup your first Register, you can go into SO Manager --> Database menu --> Register --> Register List. Click Copy from the Register List window and change the name and number of the register. Install the software on the other machine and go into SO Admin --> File menu

--> Configuration --> Database, point the database information to the Server or where the DB resides. Go to the Register tab and change the Register Number to the newly created Register. Open SO POS and all your setting will be there.

I am back...I tried and I believe followed the steps correctly...I had reached my db and login creds; but... the custom buttons and layout didn't work.

What I actually got was the default design. What do you recommend or what did I miss?

On your new machine if you log into Manager and go to the Database menu --> Registers --> Custom POS Buttons, do you have any entries?

The layout of the screen itself will have to done over on each machine, that information is store locally in the registry of each computer, also any custom HTML status bar will have to be set in SO Admin. But your custom POS buttons should come over as well as Receipt formats.

After checking the new machine's "custome POS buttons" folder I didn't find anything. I also check same place on the machine that is already set up and it doesn't show any either... Would there be documentation that would explain how to make all machines in the system to be the same?

I ask that because we now have 6 computers and hoping I can make changes on one computer and it be reflected on all computers with just a few steps?

Was there any Custom POS Buttons defined in the first place?

What customizations do you want to change and have reflected across all machines exactly?

Things that can be set once for all computers from one workstation. Configuration Options Items Taxes Cashiers Sales Reps Reason Codes Receipt Templates Pole Display Messages Custom POS Buttons Names of OPOS devices (the acutal OPOS device still needs to be setup on each machine) TouchScreen Layouts (just the default layout, still need to configure the actual POS screen to show touchscreen)

Things that need to be configured at each machine. The actual screen layout (i.e. the size and positioning of the Transaction Screen) Paths to folders (i.e. Reports, HTML Status bar, PO's...)
