Returns with discounts

HI,

I am Having a problem with RMS POS. I have a quantity discount for items purchase in quantity of 5 or more. But when i do a return with a negative quantity, the discounted price does apply. For example, item a is priced at $6.95 each or 5 for $29.95 ($5.99 ea). If the customer returns some or all 5 of those item, POS stick with the single item price ($6.95). I tried entering negative quantities in the discounted pricing level option under the discounts tabs but that doesn't seem to work. Is there a way to get this quantity discounts to work with returns as well?

Are you recalling the original transaction for return, or just entering a negative quantity to accept the return? If you recall the original transaction, RMS should use the price they originally paid.

Recalling the original transaction for us is taking anywhere from 30 seconds to over a minute. That seems like forever at POS and often makes us seem confrontational. All other functions seem to work well (fast). Any ideas on how to speed up this recall?

Do you bring up the batch and look up the transaction number? That seems to work well for us.

Yes, exactly. We key it right off the receipt.

How long does your recall take?

I'm thinking we will need to archive some of our journals. We've got years worth.

But at the same time I'm puzzled by this time lag when we have keyed in the exact transaction number.

It only takes a matter of seconds for us. We have roughly 2 years of journals in the system. I have noticed that it wants the day for the batch and then the transaction number. Sometimes it takes longer than others but still under 10 seconds.
