POS 2.0 & Gift Cards - First Data says "POS Not Supported"

Hello, Has anyone successfully setup Gift Card Processing with POS 2.0?

I just got off the phone with Microsoft tech support who is helping me investigate, we were on a con-call with First Data who said ?First Data does not support gift card processing with MS POS 2.0?

I?m sure someone has to have been down this road before? Please share your story!

First of all, BIG warning about FirstData, I spent several hours on the phone with them. They use a proprietary gift card system & refuse to release a report with account numbers & balances. Their customer service is HORRIBLE.

Basically, I finally found you can request a 'one pager' report from the first data rep, that will provide you with a listing of all accounts/cards created in the past. You then have to go to their website & type in the acct # (one by one). Once I receive that 'one pager' report that i requested, I'm going to have RMS handle the gift cards.

If you want to stick with 1st data, I think PC charge will work (however, we are using Ingenico signature pads & they use TIP/Hypercom software...not PC charge.)

Sorry for the l> Hello,

Well after weeks of digging. I found out the First Data proprietary gift card system is the ONLY system compatable with Microsoft POS 2.0. (I'm talking about POS not RMS)

Few people at First Data even seem to know this. As I was repeatedly told by several First Data reps that MS POS is not supported by First Data, even though is configured out of the box for it.

If anyone else runs into the same problem I did. ie: First Data & Microsoft do not know how to help with a gift card program despite both their websites having special sections dedicated to MS POS 2.0 where gift cards are repeatedly touted as a function.

You can call Concord EFS 877.399.4545 they seemed to know about the MS product

For the FDS Gift Cards to work with MS POS you need to be on the North Front-end, Buypass-backend platform.

It only took me a month to get this info, now lets see how long to get it up and working.
