Process CC through Firstdata-Nashville

Can you use processor called Firstdata-Nashville with the RMS intergrated credit card EDC processing? I know I can use PC Charge, but I prefer to use RMS processing instead.

Thanks for your support Dave

Dave,

We process through First Data and did not want to switch processors to use RMS. It took a few phone calls but it is possible. You may have to explain to someone (at First Data) that you need them to set you up to run through Vital. You will get a V number from Vital and then you should get an account info sheet from FD that has the information to setup RMS to process directly. We have been doing it that way for several months now - no problems.

Dave,

Another alternative is Abanco. We have a free plug-in that is not related to PCCharge whatsoever. It allows processing from RMS to the following platforms, without having to use a pass-thru setup (like the Vital alternative discussed in this thread -- which BTW adds cost to each transaction). Also, you do not need to switch your banking relationship to use Abanco's gateway or software if you don't want. We simply setup your existing Nashville credentials in our gateway and you are good to go.

Supported processors:

First Data Nashville First Data North First Data South Vital Paymentech Global East Concord/EFSNet

Let me know if you need any further information.

Dave, Use the straight thru Vital processing. Eliminates middlemen

Cut out the mid

It all depends on what kind of deal you have negotiated. After 20 years with First Data and plenty of annual contract re-nogotiation, no one has been able to come close to the rates I am getting, even with a middleman. Many companies claimed they could, but most never even called back after I told them what they needed to be at.

Also look back through this forum. There are a couple of the values on the setup sheet you get from FD that don't directly translate to where you put them in RMS. Marc helped me through this - and I posted what I had to do.

DCR/Marc,

They will still charge you more for using Vitals network. In this case they become a middle man (albiet a big middle man). However wait for version 2.0 , looks like Microsoft will support direct connection between RMS and First Data networks.

FYI: Microsoft tells me that MSPOS 2.0 will be supporting First Data's Concord/EFSNet platform, not The FDC Nashville platform. Unfortunately, they are two different platforms.

We went with FirstData for a number of good reasons, but their solution for us was ICVerify. That's a program that sits on our server. We run cc transactions thru RMS and they go through to ICVerify and are uploaded each night. Problem is this config will not handle electronic checks, gift cards or debit cards in RMS, so capture the sale in RMS then we physicall run them through a stand-alone Telecheck Eclipse terminal.

Could you please explain a little more about Vital, and whether you think it would integrate any of the things we can't do directly with RMS?

Thanks-- WineGuy
