Does anyone know if there is information on creating custom reports in POS
2009. A report that I created in Visual studio 2008 will not upload into POS
2009.

I've created a few custom reports using the Report builder 2.0. However I don't think you can upload any of them reports into the POS. I think the only reports you can upload to the POS are ones developed with Report builder v1.0. Not sure about visual studio 2008 verity.

I ended up hosting my custom reports build with Report Builder 2.0 in SQL Server Reporting services 2008 in sharepoint intergration mode instead of uploading them to the POS itself. It took me a little bit to setup, but I also uploaded most of my standard POS reports into SSRS, so now I have all my reports available on the sharepoint site.
