Does anyone know why some recipts might not journal. When I go to tender a sale, a little window comes up and says that the sale cannot be journaled because of an error. It then shuts the POS software down. When you go back into the journal, all you see is a blank receipt where that one should be.

Sounds like your database is corrupt. Try;
SO Admin | File | Connect | put in your password | Database | Backup | Database | Check | Database | Re-index.
If that doesn't work better find a backup and restore it.
