Report with Pictures

Feb 24, 2006 2 Replies

I would like to have a report that provides an item list with the pictures displayed (not just the name of the picture).

I tried being tricky and putting the IMG SRC tag as hard-coded text around the picture name output, so that I could export the report to HTML and then open it in a browser, but there are two problems. One is that the export process is URL encrypting the angle brackets so that the code I am trying to push through becomes useless. The other is that if I try to put quotation marks in the text that I would like to display the report bombs.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to either how to tell the report to pass the text through unmolested or how I can have users create this kind of report dynamically inside the system?

I'm probably asking for the moon, but it is worth a shot.

Thanks, Holly

Well, you could create an html page that could be launched from a Custom POS button in POS, or an ASP based web site that connects to the RMS Database. Windows XP Pro has a built in web server that you could use to server the page.

Take a look at the drilldown.htm sample html add-in - it installs with RMS into the \HTML directory. It tries to display item images, but I believe there is something wrong with that part of the sample - it's still worth a look.

if you place the HTML on an IIS and drop your images in the IIS as well it will run fine.
