Repository of queries and reports

I certainly don't know about the legal or liability issues, but I would welcome this kind of a setup. I commend you for being willing to offer up the space and your time posting email attachments to the site. I hope there aren't any issues with doing this because it would certainly benefit the community to have such a resource. My main concern would be copyright issues with the reports and receipts but since many of them are offered up here for free I wouldn't think it should be a problem. Craig

I think this would be an excellent idea. I'm sure that the authors of the reports would also appreciate a repository so that they don't have to keep reposting.

i agree great idea. Not sure that some of the "partners" are going to like it. My partner has a ton of these reports but they are his "property" which I understand. But i think if we have a site for retailers this would be great.

Not to sound grumpy or anything, but speak for yourself when you guarantee users would be more than willing to pay $500-1000 more for such an ability. I do not need such a utility if it would cost any more to have it included. Yes it would be nice to have, but only if it was included in the current price structure. Between this forum, customersource, and my partner I have amassed a library of over 125 reports that do everything I need them to do. For those that need more let them be the ones to pay for it. Hi Craig.... I think that was Joe Namath speaking when I used the word "guarantee"....I guess if the reports and receipt templates one can amass over the years from this forum, customersource and partners/resellers have cost less than a few hundred dollars then the cost/benefit analysis makes sense (why pay for something when you can get if for free or close to nothing). But it could be that adding up partner support fees, per incident support fees, maintenance fees that give you access to customersource, high-speed internet access fees and the cost/time of the whole shebang may show one probably spent a lot more than those several hundred dollars. (I think I may have been a bean counter on a previous life)

I thought this forum was for sharing idea and helping each other. If someone didn't post them on the forum to start up with you wouldn't have amassed a library of over 125 reports .... Everyone has to start as a newbie and we all needed help with reports when we first started - so now it's time to help others. It really disappoints me when the answers to forum questions are: A) see your partner or B) buy this add-on. Having a central report library would be great... similar to the customersource where people could share their work.

Danny, I totally agree. If you read all my posts to this thread you will notice that I wholeheartly support Jason's idea. And if you look back through my posting history you will notice that I share my experiences, and attach reports to be downloaded, as much as anyone. Convoluted is very knowledgable, and I appreciate that he and everyone else that posts, share as much as they do. You really took my qoute > out of context. I wasn't against Jason's idea at all. I said that in response to "everyone being willing to pay $500-$1000 more" for MS to include a utility that would easily write reports for end users(it would easily be another $1000). If someone needs that kind of reporting ability I shouldn't have to pay for it also. When I agree with an idea I speak up, but that also goes for if I disagree with an idea. One more thing, sometimes referring to a partner or purchasing one of the really great add-ons available for RMS, is the best solution to a problem. Keep in mind that if everything everyone wanted was included in the basic program there wouldn't be any newbies, because no one would be able to afford it. Craig

Sorry , if I misinterpreted your response. I'm just frustrated with the lack of information regarding how to produce your own reports. You would think that their would be some documentation about QRP. I have been able to figure some of it out by looking at other reports but documentation would be appreciated.

If it wasn't for people like Akber, Jeff, Tom, Glenn and few others around the forum I do think I would have learned anything about RMS from my partner. These folks desire a big THANK-YOU...
