RMS SO 1.2, Slow journal viewer

One of our customers has RMS SO 1.2.051 They have about 8 systems with RMS and XP (SP2)



3 of them are POS systems. Now is the problem that on that 3 POS systems the journal viewer is very slow, it takes about 40 second to see the receipts. In the POS but also in the Manager. I tried it on the other 5 systems, but there it is going fast. So it can't be a problem in the SQL I think.

Is there anyone who knows where to look, to solf this problem?

first you can do one thing is that go to Admin program and re-index the database, the second thing what is the volumn or no of transaction in journal table. you can run following query to get this:

select count(*) from journal

"Raym> One of our customers has RMS SO 1.2.051

We tryed re-index already, but unfortually that didn't work. At least, the other system are stil fast and the pos aren't The volume or number of transactions, i must test. I'm not there now, so I can try it hopefully tommorow.

The journal viewer leverages windows printer technology. Sometimes, if you have a problem with your default windows printer, this may cause a problem. I would make sure that on the systems that are slow, that you have specify a default windows printer that is in good working order.
