SKU and Barcodes

Jan 04, 2008 7 Replies

Hello - we are setting up the database for the first time. Many of our products can have multiple suppliers and therefore have multiple barcodes (even within suppliers). What is the best way for us to do this? In our current software, we have a single entry based on a SKU that has multiple suppliers based on their individual barcodes.

Help is appreciated

Wow, maybe you don't understand how 'green' we really are with this.. :) can you walk me through it -- specifically the data load process. I have my data currently broken down (and I can easily adjust) into line items listed by SKU's; therefore, I may have a single SKU with a couple of lines of data and the only change is the barcode and supplier and cost.

What version of RMS are you using? I used QSCimport - very easy to use and lots of samples to get you started.

You will have to manipulate your data into CSV - most of this can be done in Excel.

Thanks for your reply. I am using 2.0. I have QSCImport - but I don't see how I can load the multiple barcodes and suppliers associated with each part. As far as manipulating the data -- that I know how to do.

Thanks for your help. :)

Itemlookupcode in the item table = SKU Alias table links other UPC to the Itemlookupcode
