Store credit

How exactly can store credits be processed using RMS?

The program we were using before would notify us if a specifc customer had a store credit in its favor. I don't see or can't find how this can happen in RMS.

As an example, let's say a customer buys something either cash or credit card and wants to return it. My store policy ïs "store credit only". How do I go about having the store credit available to the customer next time he comes? I know I can make mandatory to present the receipt, but, ísn't computers supposedly take care of handling that kind of things? The ideal would be that, at the moment the customer comes to buy something, RMS tells the cashier that there is a credit available.

Thanks in advance.

RMS has capability of Store credit in built. Create a new tender called Store Credit in RMS. Assign it as tender type " Account" Z out from each POS.

You can also assign the credit limit for each customer.

You also have to create an account type and assign it to any customer that you want to issue a store credit for.

The HTML Status bar can be modified to show a customer's current balance - a negative balance would indicate an available store credit...

Would all of this work across the HQ enterprise? Thanks Dave Weston

Yes. All customers must be set as Global Customers. Then the global customers AR can be seen at each store with HQ.
