Sync Inventory Between SBA and POS

Apr 13, 2006 7 Replies

I understand that POS will import the inventory from SBA. Does it do that on the fly or will I need to reimport the inventory from SBA everytime I receive new inventory?

I receive inventory every week so I need to work out the process I need to put in place for that.

Dom,

I don't remember that being an option to import from SBA, but if it really does, I think its a one time shot.

Supposedly the connector you download links the two together and POS imports the customer information and the inventory and a couple other things, but I havent been able to find any real documentation on that.

Dom,

Here's the POS Connector file and it only mentions vendors, _closed_ P.O.'s and transactions.

Hmmm.... well it should be an interesting conversation with the MS people about this. I was told by the vendor and by MS that it uses the SBA inventory somehow. I assumed it was from the connector.

Dom,

What they _could_ be talking about is the ability to export to a CSV file from SBA and then import from that into POS.

There is really no need for SBA to have inventory items as the Connector only transmits GL account totals from RMS/POS to SBA.

Well I am hoping it can do something like that because I have an online shop that I use SBA for all the invoicing, inventory and everything else. I would like the POS to use all that data. I was told it would by the vendor and by MS it has that capability.

If it cant then I will be return> Dom,

As it turns out SBA and POS do not exchange inventory (no way, no how), but its slated for version 2.0 which is in beta right now.

Looks like I am go> Well I am hoping it can do something like that because I have an online shop
