Text Inserter Setup

I am looking for information on how to set up the data output for a text inserter for my video surveillance system. My surveillance system has a DVR with built in text insertion capability. We are dealing with 2 issues.



#1. How to configure the POS? Both hardware (ports, etc) and software (OPOS drivers, etc.) so it will transmit to DVR. We have tried to use the printer but that is a data image and the inserter requires ANSII text. I believe the answer lies in the output for the pole display or setting up another virtual pole display so the POS is sending info to two sources



#2. The settings in the DVR require Line Delimiting information be provided during set up. The DVR manufacturer says that this info must be provided by the manufacturer, ie; Microsoft. So far no luck.

We did this in a couple of stores by creating a pole display in rms opos with the serial port as the output, and added it to the register setup. Then we hooked up the camera interface to the serial output. It worked fine.

Thanks for the reply but can you provide more specifics on how to configure the POS? Both hardware (ports, etc) and software (OPOS drivers, etc.) for a novice to set up the additional pole display on a serial(we already have one pole display in use with usb).

Also, the DVR setup requires the Line Delimeter code. Do you know what that is for RMS. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
