Time Clock Button is grayed out

I want to use the time clock, however when I use CTRL + SHIFT + F4 the time clcok button is grayed out and I can not use it.

What do I need to do to make the time clock functional?????

Thanks for any input!

Frank, There should not be anything you need to do to enable this functionality. If the button is grayed out, is it possible that RMS security has been enabled to make this button read-only?

The button may be disabled. Use Security mode by clicking the button to the right of the F7 in the button bar, (must be logged in with administrator privilage) then hold down the Ctl key as you click the button to the right of the F1 button until it shows C-Shift, then while still holding down the Ctl key, also press the S key (effectively pressing Ctl-S without losing your menu).

The Ctl-Shift-F4 Time Clock button will probably show outlined in red, click the button to show the security window. Remove the Disable Change marks beside any security level group of cashiers that you want to have access to that feature.

Thank you sir!!!! Your post solved the problem for me. I am going to psot my exact steps so that anyone who might be new to RMS will have it.

I opened the POS.

On the bottom where the buttons are there are two blank buttons to the far left. The button on the bottom will lock all of the other the buttons in their current position so that you do not have to hold any buttons to keep the buttons where you want them.

With this in mind, I pressed CTRL + Shift, then with my mouse I clicked on the bottom left button to lock the other buttons. At this point I can release the keys I am holding because I have locked the buttons into place. So, without pressing CTRL + Shift I can still see my time clock Button.

Now to edit the settings for this button, I need to turn secure mode on. To do this I pressed CTRL + S . You will probably see red and blue boxes around different areas. In my case the button I was wanting to edit had a red box around it. I just clicked on the button and it brought up a pop up box that let me check what security levels could access it. I unchecked them all so that anyone could access it.

I then closed this pop up. Then I hit CTRL + S to exit secure mode. Now my Time clock button was available.

After doing this, I see another way I could have solved this problem, however this solution was great! Thanks a million to Matt Hurst!!!
