Is there a way to automatically close the window that pops up when a transaction is complete? If an item is scanned while that window is up, it will not add to the transaction screen. This results in the potential for that item to not be recoreded as sold. Basically giving away the item..
Yes you can...go into manager and I think off the top of my head it's in the configerations screen. Oh you need to have the latest version downloaded, and for that you need to search the MS site...I heard it was moved, have not had a chance to check on it yet, and you must be a partner to download the latest version. In Manager | Configuration | Options | POS Options there is a setting to automatically close change screen. Uncheck this setting and restart POS. The change screen should now stay open until you close it. Craig
No you can't have it both ways. You either have the change screen stay until you close it by hitting enter, or you have the change screen close automatically after the sale completes. This is really an issue of employee training. If you train your cashiers to be careful and hit enter after giving the change there won't be an issue. Another way to do it is to do what we do, have the change screen close automatically and configure POS to 'Print receipts only after asking the cashier' in the register properties. This way the change screen will stay open until you tell it to print a receipt or not. That way you can see what change to give back. As soon as you print the receipt(or not)the change screen closes and your set to go with the next transaction. It's very quick and only takes one extra keystroke. Craig
