Transfer Quantities Don't Match

Feb 04, 2008 2 Replies

I have a report in front of me showing both sides of an inter-store transfer. (Item Movement History Report) It shows store A received transfer 0106232, item abcd, qty 12. It shows store B issed on transfer 00A_0106232, item abcd, qty -11.

How can the two sides of the same transfer not be equal? Where does the system put the other item? Neither shows the item as "Committed." On hands were adjusted by +12 and -11 respectively.

The xfer qtys should match evenly provided that the receiving store received exactly what was on the xfer (perhaps with the receive all function, or by actually receiving each line item at a qty as sent). Have you checked the receiving stores xfer in to determine if they received 1 extra of an item system wise, and if so, did they physically receive one extra of the given line item?

The transfer supports the mismatch. One store said they shipped 11, the other said they received 12. The first one's inventory shows -11 for the item on the Item Movement report, the other shows +12. My overall inventory did not grow by 1. What happened? As I look through the company history, I have pages of similar examples.
