I've discovered that StoreOps and HQ don't play well when you have them on the same box. The HQ Server and HQ Client tend to butt heads.

I would recommend getting another workstation for your Store Operations system. It doesn't need to be a particulary hefty system, either, just enough to support an operating system and the RMS software. You can even keep the StoreOps database on your HQ box (that's what we do; RMS doesn't care about that). If your client doesn't want to spring for the hardware, you could setup a virtual machine on your HQ box.
