Using CR to write custom reports

Oct 02, 2006 3 Replies

I'm new with HQ but familiar with CR 8.5. I need to do a custom report utilizing the item table and need to know how to connect to the HQ DB. Using CR and from what I read the best way to connect to the HQ DB is using Ole DB, but I am not familiar with the DB structure. Does anybody has a datadictionary for the HQ DB?

Can someone please provide instruction in how to connect to the HQ DB?

Thanks.

You can run Enterprise Manager or SQL Server Management Studio to connect to the database. There are no meta tables so each table and field has a relatively understandable name.

Management Studio is also helpful for writing advanced queries.
