We try to keep track of all voids by the cashier keeping the receipt. The cashiers were putting a 0 in QTY line so they would not have to void. Now they are just putting 00 in the line for the upc it comes up with a error then they can cancel it out with out any record of it. Im sure you can read in why this is a problem. Does any one have a solution for this if so what is it? thanks
stop the qty field from being amended by using the security setup in POS. this field is pretty dangerous as the cashiers can ring up false sales by changing the qty to zero i.e
they ring up 5 items all with qty's. then after notifying the customer that he/she has to pay $X, they can go back to the transaction screen, change the qty field by putting in zero and ring up the sale(less the original total).
we have advised our clients to use the detailed sales report to watch out for such sales (qty =< zero sales)
