Zebra installation Problem

Hello everyone;

I try to install a Zebra TLP 2844 USB label printer on a Windows XP Pro PC with RMS 1.3R

I usually install the Zebra Driver, and then install a "Generic / Text Only" driver on the same "Virtual pinter port for USB" in order to talk to the printer in their language (ELP). I have done these several times, but recently when i install the Generic / Text Only driver and try to print to that printer, it doesn´t print anything; no error appears, the control panel informs the document has been received ("documents" column turns to 1) and then that the document have been printed ok ("documents" column turns to

0)... but nothing prints

Funny thing is when i try to print to the same printer, via the Zebra driver, everything prints ok.

I had tried with several USB printers, PC´s, laptops and drivers... same result, orginal printer driver is ok, but "Generic / Text Driver" is not...

Even funnier when i install only the original driver, it prints ok, but when i change that same printer, same port to "generic / text only driver"... no more printing... back to original driver and it prints ok again.

This isn´t funny anymore... customer has been waiting 3 days for his printer... Anyone with the same problem?.

Best regards.

I am having the exact same problem with my 2824 USB and Windows XP Pro. If I use the Zebra driver it prints fine but if I change over to using the Generic / Text Only driver I get nothing....

Stringers;

I just found that you CANT obtain a Test Page from Control Panel>Printers/Faxes using a Generic Text Only Driver on a Zebra printer.

You CAN print on any Zebra printer from any application using Zebra Driver or from RMS using Generic / Text Only driver and sending EPL/ZPL commands to the printer... just remember that you wont obtain anything sending a test page to a Zebra printer using a Generic/Text Only driver.
