Bug in Terminal Downloads (IMS/Intuit Merchant Accounts)

I'm a new user of IMS/Intuit merchant account with the "time-saving" QuickBooks interface. My first attempt at downloading transactions ended up with an error message: "An item specified in the transaction does not exist. Make sure that the item you've chosen to represent your terminal payments exists in QuickBooks." The item I'm using in QB to represent terminal payments is named Credit Card and it is a Payment Item type. I am using QB2003 Basic.

I called IMS support and was told that this is a bug in the terminal downloads and a patch will be ready on August 23rd. Is anyone else dead in the water on terminal downloads? If this is a general bug and no one with an IMS/Intuit merchant account can download transactions, I'm thinking there must be thousands of business owners more than a little bit upset about this. Or, can you see where maybe I'm doing something wrong? Thanks for any help. -- tom c
