Running QB Basic 2005, WinXP SP2: The following can be found in the help file under "Archive and Back up Your Data": To clean up and back up your data: 1.. Go to the File menu, choose Utilities, and then click Clean Up Company Data.
2.. Follow the onscreen instructions in the Clean Up Company Data wizard.There is, however, no "Clean up Company Data" option under File\Utilities. I have a file that goes back to 1993. The "Archive and Condense" option is OK, but I want to completely eliminate all data (ALL data, including journal entries...nothing beyond the last 4 years or so). The archive and condense option removes closed transactions on or before the specified date, but enters "monthly summary journal entries" for them.
Is there a way to eliminate each and every byte of data before the period I specify? No Journal entires, not a breath of the year 2000 or before? I have several copies of the full 14 year file if I want to search back that far. Can this be done, and if so, how?
