Clean-up - Condense

I have been using QBP for 16 yrs and every 3 years or so, I would condense the data to make the file size smaller. I have QBP2007 and the new way is Clean up, with 2 options: Remove transactions as of a specific date OR Remove ALL transactions. I have been removing transactions as of a specific date each time I've condensed/clean-up. This time the file size stayed the same after I asked it to leave me the last three years ! Previously the file size became much smaller. I would like to make my 70mb file smaller if possible, but I don't want to kill all of my transactions. Am I doing this right? Jeff

I don't think the file size will shrink much, if at all. QB 2006 introduced a new file organization that operates diffently than previous versions and shrinking is not really a priority.

Why do you want the size smaller? With faster and larger disk drives, today's gigabyte file is equivalent to yesterday's ten megabyte file in all respects except amount that can be stored.
