Excel Item Import

Using 2006 Premier for Wholesale. I am trying to convert 1000 items I have in the items file to be a subitem of GN. I exported the items file to excel did a concatenate and added the prefix of GN: to the items names to make them subitems and imported back into QB. They imported fine as subitems but the original item number still remains. How do we get rid of this original item number?

Thanks, Chico

Turn off the preference to confirm deletes. Then delete the newly added items. The old ones have associated entries so you cannot delete them. Then get something like Number Cruncher to do this.
