Missing Items in the Invoice Drop down list

Hello,

I am using QuickBooks Pro 2006 and after converting from 2001 I don't see all of my items in the drop down list when creating invoices. I can see all of the Items on the Item list, but when I create invoices and select items from the drop down list I can only see 10 to 50%. The number of items very based on how they are sorted and whether I moved some items around. Even stranger is the fact that Qickbooks 2006 works fine on my loptop. I spent two weeks on the phone with Tech Support but they can't help me. Please let me know if anybody experienced this problem and how it was solved.

Thanks

Irene

Try resorting the item list. Then, close out of QuickBooks. Get back into QuickBooks. Does it display all of the items now?

Works fine for us.

In single user mode, remove all sorts from the item list. Tell it to resort the item list, twice.

Again in single user mode, rebuild the data file.

In case this is some sort of network issue just where and how is the data file stored and how do you access it? Are you sure that each computer has the required horse power to run QB? How long has your network been in place? Long enough that the connectors on the cables might have had a chance to oxidize and not make good connections? (Stranger things have happened. Unplug and replug them at both ends a couple of times to rub the oxide off them.) Because it is happening on one machine but not the other, what else is different about the machines? Hardware? O/S? Other software? Got a virus/trojan/spyware on it? Do you have access to a third machine to test it with? Could there be a problem with the one machine? (Have access to diagnostics?)

You actually sound like you might be that one case.
