Problem with exporting dates to Excel in UK version of QuickBooks

I am using QuickBooks 2001 to 2004. I'll install 2005 soon but I don't expect a difference. I am in the UK.

I've run reports for March 2005 at home and in a clients office.

The report in QuickBooks shows:

12/03/2005 and 13/03/2005

The report in Excel shows:

12/03/2005 and 13/03/2005

but when you look at the data beneath it you see:

03/12/2005 and 03/13/2005

This indicates to me that QuickBooks is at fault.

Intuit Technical Support - an Asian who needed me to repeat everything three or four times before they were even able to understand a simple sentence - said it was an Excel issue not QuickBooks!

Intuit Technical Support seem to be trained in lying.

This may have been obvious, but have you tried to format the date column in different ways before entering data? Arno

I don't know what you mean. It's a UK version you can't format the date column in US format.

What I do is to switch the pc operating system to american date format before exporting the report. Its a pain but it works.

You can then change the date format in excel to anything you like as the stored binary value is now correct.
